117 Head Dairy Cattle: This milking herd includes 60 mature cows (mostly Holstein some with Jersey and Brown Swiss cross). 40 head are 1st and 2nd lactation cows. The herd is currently averaging 68 lbs. in the tank, 3.92 BF, 3.03 Protein and 183 SCC. 11 cows due in May and June. The 57 heifers include 11 which are AI bred to a Holstein or Jersey bull, due the latter end of May, 10 head bred to a Jersey bull due 1st of Sept., 5 shortbred to a Jersey bull since Feb. 8 (not yet vet checked). 31 calves and heifers ranging from 2 month to 13 month old.
